My Friends: Rob and Amber Grimshaw – A story that has to be shared!
Some of you know that I grew up in Las Vegas. My next door neighbor was a young man named Rob Grimshaw. Over the years, we have stayed in touch – he married his high school sweetheart, Amber and they have 2 beautiful little girls (8 & 2) – storybook life, right? Not quite! I recently learned that this dear friend of mine has developed an extremely rare form of cancer, only 8 cases in the U.S. in the last 15 years. Through all of this, he has remained hopeful that there will be a cure found and is currently following many different forms of treatment. However, due to the rarity of this cancer, oncologists do not know how to treat this cancer specifically.
The cancer has a name that is terrifying – it is Epitheliod Sarcoma Cancer. The tumors have broken through the skin of his arms and have spread over much of his body – the initial treatment was a radiation that because of a misdiagnosis actually made the tumors grow in size, increase in number and spread to his lungs. His story can be found at Rob Grimshaw.blogspot.com with a link to “Donate” to his family and his care. I hope you will take a few minutes today to read his story, and find it in your heart to help him and his family. Because this is such a rare form of cancer the research in to a cure is minimal but what we can do is reach out to Rob, Amber and their beautiful daughters through support; financially, emotionally and through prayer to help them remain in their home so Amber can stay with him to take care of him in his days of pain and challenge and his days of hope and victory.
We often hear the phrase “I am my brother’s keeper”. It is not too often that we have the opportunity to live it and experience it. In the case of Rob Grimshaw, “I am my brother’s keeper” and I hope you will be too. By going to his blog
